Then I find the frequency and heading for the runway I am cleared for. This will not align you with the runway now, but get you close. When ATC tells you 'cleared for runway xxxx" and all that, start turning towards the heading they gave you. I use my own version of ILS (Idiot's Landing System). I think I'm getting your question.tell me if I'm wrong. Punctuation, spelling and capitalization are our friends.

One more thing No offense but, your posts are very hard to follow sometimes. Shut off the AP, keep it straight, flare, cut power and land. The autopilot will do the rest until you are at about 400' AGL. The ALT indicator will go out as you intercept the glide path and the AC will start the final descent.īy the time you hit the outer marker, you should be fully configured for landing. Your HDG indicator will go out as you intercept the runway heading and the AC will turn to the runway heading. Too fast and you'll be zig-zagging or miss it. Make sure that you are near the proper approach speed for your AC. You must intercept the localizer from below. You should already be at the altitude assigned by ATC.

Once you're set-up on the heading assigned to intercept the final runway heading, hit the APPR button. The AP heading is set to the intercept heading given to you by ATC. Make sure that you have the runway frequency programmed into NAV1 and that your Autopilot course selector is set to the runway heading. By the time you are on the final intercept heading, check that your GPS/NAV switch is set to NAV.
